Yep, we're pregnant. Tupou doesn't like calling it an accident, so we just refer to it as a "surprise."
I got really sick toward the middle of May (right at the beginning of finals). I took a test...then another one...PREGNANT. I'm sorry to say that I was less than excited at the beginning, poor Tupou had to stifle his glee for a few days. To be fair, I was so sick AND trying to get through law school finals, so I think my lack of enthusiasm is forgivable.
Now at 15 weeks, Tupe and I are both totally stoked. We have a feeling it is a girl, but we will of course welcome a little Three-po (get it, cause Tupou's dad's name is Tupou as well, so this would be the third "Two-po"). Whatever it is, we've seen it kicking its legs in an ultrasound and heard the heartbeat, so it's officially irreversible now :)

- Tupou and I have been married since 2004. We live in Phoenix. He's a cop, I'm a law student at ASU. Tupou is the easy-going fun one and I am the stressed-out, high-strung one who tends to have strong opinions. I guess we balance each other out pretty well. We joke that if we had each married someone like ourselves he'd live in a rented apartment with a nice car and a big TV and I'd own a home, have money in the bank and never have any fun. We have a dog and a cat who we consider to be our "practice babies". If we don't kill 'em in the next few years, we'll try the real thing. Note: For posting purposes, I have decided to go ahead and use first person in this blog instead of saying "we" all the time, since, let's face it, I'm likely to be the only one writing and he'd probably prefer to be disassociated with most of my rants anyway.

Thanks, guys! We're super excited. And this week we found out we're having a girl! That's what we were both secretly hoping for, so we are thrilled.
